If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise :

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aims;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build'em up with worn out tools,

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And loose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: "Hold out!"

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And – which is more – you'll be a Man, my son!



若在大家喪心病狂群起圍攻時，你昂首依舊；

若你能堅信自己，並體諒他人；

當他們遲疑時，

若你願意等待，並不失去耐性；

謗議由人，但不隨之起舞，

收下仇恨，並不深陷其中。

也不要成為一個諂媚，好辯之徒。


如果你勇於夢想，千萬別被夢想主宰；

如果你敢於思考，不要因此倒因為果。

如果你在成敗之際，都能處之泰然；

如果你能忍受，那些遭惡意扭曲的語言陷阱，是出自你曾親口述說的真理；

如果你目睹心血毀於一旦，還能夠放下身段，蓄勢再起，

如果你在事業有成後，還有種奮力一搏，

輸了，二話不說，重頭來過。



如果你喪失心神，仍能夠展現意志；

你孑然一身，依舊咬牙苦撐，因為你告訴自己 : 堅持到底。

如果你長袖善舞，仍能堅守原則，

居廟堂之高，卻不失親民，

不論敵友，皆無傷於你，

若能讓大家信任，且恰如其分

若能在無情歲月裡，恣意馳騁...

那，

世界就是你的。

但，

我的孩子:

更重要的是，

你因而成了一個

男子漢。
